High Summer Look: Moodboards & Designs

For my Chanel inspired High Summer Look, I am inspired by bronze glows and tussled hair. I am basing this around the very popular Chanel bronzer, Soleil de Tan which is a cream- gel medium with a silky glowing finish. Below are the two moodboards I have created for my look, the first depicting hairstyles and the second makeup.

From these moodboards, I find it is very clear the type of look I want to achieve. Below are the makeup and hair designs I have created for this look. I want to achieve a very bronzed complexion that is also reflective, like sunlight hitting the skin. The eyes will have smokey brown eyeshadow and luscious full lashes. For the lip, I have drawn up two finishes, one is a matte brown and the other a more golden hue of the natural lip colour. For my final outcome I will most likely opt for the more natural tone so not to be too heavy on the brown colour palette.
For the hairstyle of this look, I want to create loose flowing hair. For my first design, I played around with the idea of wet look hair, using the method of scrunching the hair as well as applying gel for a shiny, fresh from the water, finish. Though this hairstyle would best represent a model on the beach, in the height of summer, I don't feel it carries any familiarity with Chanel. I therefore adapted my second design plan with Chanel in mind, and settled on big soft curls achieved with large barrelled curling tongs. I intend to create volume at the roots of the hair by backcombing and teasing the curls at the ends to create a greater mass of hair.
