For my timed assessment, I have chosen to create a Chanel evening
look. Evening makeup is generally defined as more dramatic makeup, using bolder
colours than a day look. A day makeup may only include essential products
whereas an evening look suggests a full face.
I want to create a look that is subtle and sophisticated and in
keeping with the class and poise of the brand, Chanel. Below is
a compilation of images that have inspired me whilst researching
evening makeup.
These two moodboards depict the hair and makeup I envision when I think of a glamorous, evening look for Chanel. The makeup is inspired by one of the S/S 2015 makeup collection looks that I researched for my Chanel inspired Spring/Summer look.
For the first design, I went for a deep red lip. The cheeks are heavily contoured and the eyes are smudgy black. The accompanying hairstyle is 40s inspired waves created by brushing through finger waves.
The second designs I went for a dark matte lip, in a purply, brown tone. This is coupled with fine winged liner and a smokey pink eye. The hair is full, loose curls, the hair is smooth and straight on top and then a mess of curls at the bottom.
